Class EM1 1500vdc overhead locomotives designed for use on the
Woodhead Route between Sheffield and Manchester. 58 locomotives were
built, all had been withdrawn with the rundown and final closure of
the line in 1981.Twelve of the class were originally named after heroes
of Greek mythology. More here.
