All is not as it seems!
During the early 1980's, seeing that rare locomotive in an
equally rare location, whilst on ones own, proved as hard to substantiate to
fellow enthusiasts, as the proverbial fisherman and his eight foot long pike! As
can be seen with this website, the use of at least a half decent camera came in
useful, and in those days the old adage rung true; the camera never lies. It was
only an expert technician, with his own fully equipped darkroom, and a degree in
photography who could make a photo turn out not how it was taken.
Today, however, paints a different picture. We are now in the 21st century, and
as well as computer technology, the digital camera has become widely used by
those same (and new) enthusiasts. But beware, those rare and exciting shots of
today and eras past may be not all that they seem!
Below are a trio of amusing "alterations" from the keyboard of David
Rogers, and one from Paul Appleby which take a light hearted look at the past
and present rail scene!
