Power car W43028 receives attention to a bodyside scrape seen at the open day at Derby Locomotive Works, 5th August 1978. As can be seen, even this minor damage involved the removal of the crumpled steelwork to be replaced by new, an expensive factor  which must have proved somewhat embarrassing to those responsible for the incident - the power car was only two years old at the time. The ladder is not part of the repair, merely a safety measure to prevent visitors fingers coming into contact with the sharp steel edges!
