W43044 stands on jacks undergoing repairs at Derby Locomotive Works on the 11th June 1978. The car has possibly received some minor front end damage as can be seen by the removal of the front end lower panel. As well as the cab itself, the three front lower panels were also produced from glass reinforced plastic and were extremely susceptible to minor damage.
