One of the handful of Class 31's converted for electric train heating at the time of TOPS renumbering, 31 417 passes light engine through Leeds City on the 3rd August 1974. The locomotive had possibly recently been on Royal Train duties as can be seen by the red bufferbeam and silver buffers.
