820 Grenville undergoes the final stages of a major overhaul at Swindon works, 14th August 1971. Amazingly, and possibly in front of many a red faced top ranking manager, the 'Warship' was withdrawn from traffic only fifteen months later in November 1972, and reduced to scrap exactly two years after this very expensive treatment.
