Research reveals that Swindon Works applied quite a few variations of the new rail blue livery to its locomotives before they finally got it right! Here, D849 Superb, wears, what must have been, one of the first appearances of the Warship locomotives in the correct version, in what looks to have been a very recent repaint. Apparent in the background, is maroon liveried D867 Zenith. The scene is recorded at Dawlish on the 23rd June 1968.
