44 004 Great Gable was returned to its former green livery for its last few months in service and is seen here at its home depot, Toton, in December 1980. With this retro-painting the machine became the only 'Peak' (Class 44/45/46) to wear green with a full yellow front end. Today, 44 004 is has returned again to running in its rail blue livery.
