Snowdon, 44 009, languishes at Derby Locomotive Works awaiting the cutters torch, 5th December 1979. Snowdon was unique amongst the Class 44's in that, on one end only, the nose had been replaced by a standard Class 45 example following collision damage at Trent in 1968.
