An ex-works 45 044 Royal Inniskilling Fusilier awaits final tests before being released to traffic at Derby Locomotive Works, 5th August 1978. The structure in front of the 'Peak' was a locomotive washing plant and at this time was seldom, if ever, used. This photograph is one of many of the works that could never be re-created, everything you see here no longer exists, and the location is now part of Derbys Pride Park business complex.
