The Class 46 withdrawal plan seemed to be thrown into chaos when 46 036 entered Derby Locomotive Works and repairs were agreed, a full year after the condemnation of 46 024 (see preceding Class 46 photos). The locomotive had hit a dustcart on a level crossing in the south of England - unfortunately several people lost their lives. 20th April 1978.
