
Although not in rail blue livery,
this shot has to be included in the Class 47 section if only for its historical
significance. 47 367 was the very last of the class to retain the two-tone
original green livery and is pictured here in 1976 propelling the empty coaching
stock for a Clacton 'Awayday' excursion into Manchester Piccadilly station. Also
of interest is the use of '0' number vinyl's for the temporary redundant '0000'
headcode display (at one end only). The locomotive today enjoys preserved
status, owned by the
Stratford 47 Group
and based at the North
Norfolk Railway.
