Originally intended to to be named The Spirit Of The Commonwealth, the title was finally amended to The Commonwealth Spirit after powers that be decided that the plates would be to long to be practically cast in one piece. A rather grubby looking 47 555 is pictured here at Salisbury on the 19th September 1987.
