47 449 at Chester, 16th August, 1980. The loco at this time has had its four character headcode recently replaced with the standard two marker lights. Of interest is the BRUTE trolley standing on the platform, the name derived from its initials - British Rail Universal Trolley Equipment - thousands littered the countries platforms filled with parcels and newspapers, but more often than not......empty! 47 449 survives today, now carrying the name of its 47 083 counterpart Orion and can be viewed on the Llangollen Railway.
