D1531 carries a textbook example of rail blue livery as stated by the BRB, two sets of cabside numerals and two bodyside BR emblems. The locomotive is pictured on a layover at Margam on the 15th December 1968 and must have been one of the first of the earlier builds to receive the 'new' paint scheme.
