A superb study of pre-TOPS D1958 at Carlisle in the late 1960's. The photograph illustrates the locomotive in 'as-built' condition with the rail blue livery as applied from new, with four sets of numerals and four incorrectly sized BR insignias. The emblems applied were the 2' 6" versions and clearly look far too large; a later directive saw them changed to two 2' transfers, located on the centre of the body.
