Nameplate detail of D1012. Unusually the number and nameplates for these locomotives were not cast as single plates. Cast letters and numerals were affixed to a steel background with pre-formed steel beading added to the edges. Note that the beading from around this plate has been removed and several members of the class could be seen at this time with various letters and numerals missing.
