As with 86 235, 86 214's livery was modified to commemorate the Liverpool & Manchester Railways 150th year anniversary but this time with the addition of full wrap round yellow front ends, black window surrounds, and red bufferbeams. The locomotive was also named Sans Pareil. No one knew, at the time, that this was to become one of the standard liveries for British Rail locomotives. Photo, Birmingham New Street, 14th March 1981.
