In an image created by use of a starburst filter, 86 101 Sir William A Stanier FRS waits to depart north from Crewe, 26th June 1981. This one in a million shot for equipment at the time, rates as one of my favourite photos. For the photographers, it was taken with a Canon A1, which, even in 1980 cost me the princely sum of £349!!
