At the beginning of June in 1974 Falcon made an unexpected return to its birthplace for the first time since its manufacture. BR had hoped to sell the unique machine to its builders for possible use as a mobile power unit. Unfortunately for BR the plans didn't come to fruition and 1200 returned to the Western Region to resume its freight duties. Falcon is pictured here stabled at Loughborough station, with the Brush works in the background, on the 4th June 1974.
