Few people realise that BR still owned and operated three steam locomotives well into the 1970's... and they were adorned with rail blue livery! Introduced in 1923 the Davis & Metcalfe designed 2-6-2T's worked (and still do today!) the Vale of Rheidol line between Aberystwyth - Devils bridge.
