Class 15 machine No. 8234 pauses at Liverpool Street on the 13th October 1970. The locomotive retains green livery but has lost its 'D' prefix to its number, the numerals of which are in BR blue style. Note also that the data panel is blue - none were ever produced in green! By this time the remainder of the class had less than a year left in traffic and a handful were used as station pilots at the London terminus, duties which 8234 would have been performing.
