| 40 106 (D306) Today |

40 106 remains in green livery to this day but now carries its 1960's number D306 along with other 60's refinements. In October 1987 the locomotive was used for the railway scenes in the 1988 movie 'Buster' telling the story of the August 1963 Great Train Robbery and starring the rock legend Phil Collins. The location was the Great Central Railway and a special second track was laid for the purposes of authenticity (this was before the GCR was double tracked). The machine was also fitted with 'dummy' split headcode panels and given the number D326, the actual Class 40 used in the robbery.
