Rapid progress has been made this year (2009) on the restoration 50 002 based at the South Devon Railway which will eventually see the locomotive returned to working order in its original pre-TOPS guise as D402 complete, (or rather incomplete!), with its 1967 uncluttered front ends. Work includes the full, as can be seen here, restoration of the original headcode boxes. The '50' is pictured here at Buckfastleigh on the 7th November 2009.
