D1516 (47 417) undergoes restoration at Swanwick shed at the Midland Railway Centre, 20th June 2009. The Class 47 was originally obtained to provide spare parts for sister machine 47 401, also based at the railway, but after closer inspection it was found that the locomotive could be returned to full working order with comparatively little work. A third locomotive, 47 761, now provides parts for the two machines and will be broken up after its use is fulfilled.
