Shades of the past? Not quite. But Ex-BR Class 50 No. 50 044 Exeter now shows what might have been. The Class 50's were introduced from new in rail blue livery and 50 044 has now been repainted in two-tone green livery to represent what the class might have looked like if they were introduced a few years earlier. My own personal opinion is that this livery is the best ever, and is a far cry from the garish Network Southeast guise that many of the class ended their days in. D444 (the correct original pre-TOPS number) is pictured at the Severn Valley Railway on the 17th May 2005.
