50 044 Exeter shows what might have been. The Class 50's were introduced from new in rail blue livery and 50 044 has now been repainted in two-tone green livery to represent what the class might have looked like if they were introduced a few years earlier. My own personal opinion is that this livery is the best ever, and is a far cry from the garish Network Southeast guise that many of the class ended their days in. D444 (the correct original pre-TOPS number) is pictured at the Severn Valley Railway on the 17th May 2005.
