16th February 1980 and Class 45/1 No. 45 129 speeds through Duffield station with a northbound service.

Almost twenty-six years later and a Midland Mainline HST passes the same spot. At first glance not a deal appears to have changed in the ensuing years but careful examination reveals the passage of time. The platform edge has been rebuilt along with the application of the mandatory yellow warning line, and as well as the bridge being repainted the shelter is now sited further down the platform. The original lamp appears to remain on top of the bridge but the most noticeable difference in this 'now' shot is the growth of the vegetation, both on the disused platform and the surrounding trees. In particular, take note of the tree directly to the right of the overbridge steps! 4th February 2006.
