Double-headed Warships Nos. D819 Goliath & D822 Hercules head a southbound working on the 6th July 1968. Due to the geological limitations of this section of railway little has changed in forty years; wire mesh and a fence have now been added to the cliff and base as a prevention against landslips. Careful examination of the horizon however, reveals that the small outcrop of rock emerging from the sea (centre right in top photo and to the right of the Class 220 unit) has been reduced in height considerably in four decades of coastal erosion!
