Class 08 shunter, 08 573 is seen moving 16T mineral wagons opposite the platforms at Derby, 29th July 1980.

The whole of the Derby Locomotive Works site is now a huge industrial and leisure complex called Pride Park. The view from opposite the platforms today is clearly quite different to that of twenty three years ago. The top photograph shows the various buildings of the works, and (bottom) now replaced by the new station car park, and a computer software company.
