Class 44, 44 008 'Penyghent' is seen along with two Class 25's in the Klondyke arrival sidings in May 1978.

No trace whatsoever remains of the old Klondyke sidings, and the area, waiting redevelopment, is gradually returning to nature. Impending change is apparent though, as new buildings appear on the skyline, expanding the business and leisure area now known as Pride Park.
